Welcome to the Akeman Inn
Named after the ancient Roman road upon which it resides, The Akeman Inn in Kingswood existed as a coaching inn for 200 years, until the mid-19th century. Situated between Bicester and Aylesbury, this substantial building offers restaurant, lounge and bar areas with a range of comfortable seating options. We also offer outdoor dining in our beautiful garden and covered terrace, allowing you to soak in the atmosphere no matter the weather.
We serve a seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired menu based on quality ingredients. An extensive range and variety of dishes are made in our open kitchen, which features a charcoal-fuelled Josper grill. While our trained chefs freshly prepare and cook Neapolitan pizza in our bespoke wood-fired oven.
Our extensive drinks menu offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. From coffee to cask beer, we've got you covered.
Ample free parking is available for all our guests.

Acorn Pubs
Acorn pubs are a collection of 9 pubs, 5 of which offer bedrooms, which sit primarily in the home counties. We could be described as ‘modern pubs’, with an extensive range of draft beers, wines and cocktails with a great menu of freshly cooked Mediterranean-inspired food, which centres around our wood-fired ovens and charcoal grills, using traditional cooking techniques and sustainably sourced produce.
Our buildings range from modern to historic, all rejuvenated into contemporary spaces that fit the needs of the communities they serve.
Whether our customers are catching up with friends over drinks, treating the family to Sunday roast in our restaurant, or escaping for a couple of nights to one of our hotels, we pride ourselves on offering the perfect, quality environment to suit, and warm, friendly hospitality.
