Welcome to the Cherry Tree

This stunning Grade II listed building is named after the Olney Cherry Fair that takes place each summer in June and dates back to a time when the town produced a large, annual, commercial cherry crop from the vast orchards that surrounded the area, from the early 14th century onwards. In those days, the Cherry Fair would coincide with the local church's Feast Days, known as Holy Days, the only time holiday was given to the local workers. Over seven centuries later, the Cherry Tree is a sensitive and elegant restoration that oozes warmth and great quality.

Overlooking the Market Place, The Cherry Tree opens every day from 8am, serving food and drinks throughout. Many of the old Victorian and Georgian features, such as corniching, plaster work, sash windows, parquet flooring and fire places, have been painstakingly renovated and reinstated to integrate and yet contrast with the inspirational contemporary design. The space created is subtly interspersed with antiques and cherry tree-themed works of art sourced locally, including 1930s oil paintings and original 1920s Tiffany wall lights in the lobby.

With an emphasis on Mediterranean inspired, freshly cooked food, our chefs can be seen grilling and roasting over the Josper charcoal ovens and grills and preparing hand-crafted authentic Italian Pizzas in a beautiful copper-clad, wood-fired pizza oven. The menu also features an imaginative and delicious range of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes together with daily specials.

Cosy up, relax and simply enjoy our broad range of cocktails, craft beers, fine wines, gins and spirits.

We're only too delighted to talk to you about any special event or occasion you'd like to organise. Wedding and funeral receptions, birthdays, christening and all other celebrations can be catered for. Whether it's a bumper buffet for up to 50 people, or something more intimate, we can organise an appropriate space to meet your needs. Superfast, complimentary wi-fi is available throughout the building.

Acorn pubs are a collection of 10 pubs, 6 of which offer bedrooms, which sit primarily in the home counties. We could be described as ‘modern pubs’, with an extensive range of draft beers, wines and cocktails with a great menu of freshly cooked Mediterranean-inspired food, which centres around our wood-fired ovens and charcoal grills, using traditional cooking techniques and sustainably sourced produce.

Our buildings range from modern to historic, all rejuvenated into contemporary spaces that fit the needs of the communities they serve.
