Weddings in The Stables
The White Hart is a Grade II-listed, 18th-century coaching inn situated in the centre of Ampthill within easy walking distance of the town centre.
An integral part of our lovely heritage building, The Stables function suite is the perfect venue for both intimate and informal weddings, blessings and civil ceremonies. With its private bar and original beamed ceiling it offers you the ideal venue in which to celebrate your special day.
Whether you’re after a smaller more intimate event or a slightly grander affair, The Stables is a completely self-contained function suite. Boasting its own separate entrance, bar and restrooms, it can accommodate up to 50 guests for a formal seated wedding breakfast and up to 100 guests for your evening celebration and buffet.

The Stables
Featuring original oak beams and the charm that only an old barn can give you, The Stables is the perfect venue for your once in a lifetime wedding.
The Stables has a Wedding or Civil Ceremony License and is suited to 60 seated guests or 100 standing guests and benefits from its own private bar and access to the courtyard where your guests can spill out for al fresco drinks on a sunny day.
The Ceremony
The White Hart is licensed for civil ceremonies facilitated by our local registrars or a Celebrant of your choosing. Our Ceremony room, The Stables, seats up to 60 guests with plenty of space for a string quartet or alternatively you can use or system for your choice of music. As you prepare for your special moment, we will be on hand to help with anything you need. We will guide the way including letting your know when it’s time to take that special walk down the aisle.
Food and drink your guests will remember
The menu is an important part of the day and choosing yours will be an exciting part of your plans. A member of the White Hart team will work with you to create a menu that suits your special day. From canapés with your arrival drinks through to your wedding breakfast and late night nibbles we have all sorts of delicious suggestions. We have an array of wines to accompany your food choices and a back bar bursting with gins, whiskies and rums (and of course a sherry for nan!) (is that sherry for nan line lame??)
Private Dining at the White Hart
We have a Private Dining room area called 'The Restaurant' which seats up to 42 guests and is the ideal space for a relaxed family gathering, perhaps the night before the 'main event'? A lovely way to prepare for the main event the following day, before you and your guests retire to one of our eight boutique bedrooms.
Boutique Bedrooms
Blending the original character of the coaching inn with the luxury of a modern hotel, our boutique accommodation includes two family rooms, one twin room, four standard doubles and, of course, one Bridal Suite. Each of our eight air-conditioned guest rooms are spacious, comfortable, and feature everything you would expect from a modern hotel.
