Welcome to the Blue Boar
Overlooking the market square in the historic town of Witney, The Blue Boar dates back to the 17th century. For 200 years, this Cotswold coaching inn bore the name of The Marlborough in honour of the Duke before its original name was restored when it reopened its doors in 2011. Following our extensive restoration we now offer a 70-seat restaurant, bar area, function room, imposing courtyard and 20 boutique-style bedrooms.
Open daily from 8am we serve a seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired menu in our elegant dining room with open kitchen. Whether you're tempted to try one of our many dishes cooked to order on our charcoal-fuelled Josper grill, or a Neapolitan pizza, freshly prepared by one of our trained pizzaiolos and cooked in our wood-fired oven, you'll find we use fresh produce and quality ingredients, traceable from farm to fork. Younger guests can choose from a variety of dishes on our bespoke children's menu, whilst being entertained by the accompanying activity pack.
Our courtyard offers al fresco dining in comfortable surroundings, and an extensive and varied drinks menu can be found within our stylish bar.
In addition to our wines, spirits and cocktails, we stock beers bought locally from Wychwood Brewery, as well as firm favourites from Fuller's. For a more private dining experience, our Bosworth Suite can be tailored to meet your needs, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or planning a corporate lunch.
For an overnight stay, our 20 en-suite bedrooms have been sympathetically designed to reflect the uniqueness of the building. One of the many personal touches found in each of our rooms is a cosy 'Witney blanket', placed in celebration of the town's history. We're also proud to sponsor Witney Rugby Club.

Acorn Pubs
Acorn pubs are a collection of 10 pubs, 6 of which offer bedrooms, which sit primarily in the home counties. We could be described as ‘modern pubs’, with an extensive range of draft beers, wines and cocktails with a great menu of freshly cooked Mediterranean-inspired food, which centres around our wood-fired ovens and charcoal grills, using traditional cooking techniques and sustainably sourced produce.
Our buildings range from modern to historic, all rejuvenated into contemporary spaces that fit the needs of the communities they serve.
Whether our customers are catching up with friends over drinks, treating the family to Sunday roast in our restaurant, or escaping for a couple of nights to one of our hotels, we pride ourselves on offering the perfect, quality environment to suit, and warm, friendly hospitality.
