Reopening 1st August after a refurbishment
Our doors are temporarily closed to bring you something even better.
The pub is undergoing a refurbishment over the next few weeks, and we'll be back on Saturday 1st August with a refreshed look, inviting spaces, and even more reasons to raise a glass.
You may know that we're now part of Acorn Pubs — a small collection of pubs and inns within the Home Counties, operated by Brunning & Price.
A new chapter deserves a new name. When we reopen, the Akeman will become the Tufted Duck. We've taken our inspiration from local wildlife — Tufted Ducks are among the main species found on our local reservoirs and feature in the collection at the Tring Natural History Museum. As they're described: "highly gregarious, often resting in large flocks and mixing well with all sorts of other waterfowl" — our kind of ducks!
Our team will be back with you, and we can't wait to hear what you think of the new look, menu and drinks range.
Follow our progress via our website, mailing list or socials. See you in July.
